Prof. Rafiq Ahmed Naqsh joined Cadet College Petaro in 1982 to teach Urdu and left in 1983 after a very short stay of around 6 months.

He was born on 15 March 1959, and got married to Mrs. Zakia Sultana. They have two children - Parwaz and Khushnood.

Mr. Naqsh died of a heart attack on 15 May 2013.

Mr. Rafiq Naqsh belongs originally to Mirpurkhas Sindh. He completed his Matric from Govt. High School Mirpurkhas in 1974. He got his M.A. degree in Urdu from Sindh University in 1981.

In 1992, he joined Govt. City College 2, Moosa Colony, Karachi and worked as Associate Professor of Urdu until his death.

He was very prominent in the Urdu literary circles in Pakistan as a poet and writer. His recent books included "Zarbul Masal ash`aar - tehqeeq ki roshni mein se intekhab" and "MF Hussain ki kahani apni zabani".

He was a great bibliophile and loved books. He had his own large collection of books on literature and poetry.

Rafiq Naqsh was at the prime of his life - barely 54 years old - when he suffered from a massive heart attack and died on 15 May 2013. He was buried at Karachi the following day.
