studies initially at the Govt School of Petaro in
Class 1 and 2. In 1970, when his father moved to
Algeria on deputation on behalf of Ministry of
Education, Khurshid also moved with his family and
continued his studies there until 1973 when he
finished class 5. The medium of instruction was in
French and Arabic.
Upon return to
Pakistan, Prof. Mughal (his father) rejoined
Petaro and Khurshid completed his 6th and 7th
class from the same Govt. School at Petaro. Thus,
he was admitted to class 8 at Cadet College Petaro
Khurshid moved to
the USA in 1985 and graduated from Mississippi State University in
Computer Science in 1989.
For a year or so
after graduation, he did little in terms of his
career development. And then he worked for Optima
Systems - a software company - from 1990-1995.
In 1995, he
established his company Sequel Systems Inc. His
first major contract was with Chemical Bank as an
Oracle expert for bond trading. Later on Chemical
Bank was bought over by Chase Bank.
In 2001, Sequel
moved its entire business model towards
healthcare. Today, it is a
dynamic medical software company offering
electronic health record (EHR) and electronic
medical record (EMR) solutions to hospitals,
health organizations, physician practices and
Khurshid has been
the CEO of the company ever since it was founded.
