Mahmood belongs to a business family. Their family
owns the Regent Plaza Hotel on Sharea Faisal in
Karachi (originally built as the Taj Mahal Hotel).
Mahmood joined the family business very early in
life and is considered to be a very successful
In recent years, he established a factory to
manufacture motorcycles in Karachi under the brand
name of Challenger, which has grown in popularity.
The company is called Baweja Automobiles, and
Mahmood is the CEO.
Mahmood has gained a very special position for
himself within the Petarian community. He has
demonstrated leadership qualities which have been
recognized. He was the President of the
in the past, and a Member of the Board of
Directors of the Petarian
Foundation. In these capacities, he has
provided great service to the Petarians.
He was one of the prime organizers of the First
Petarian Convention held under the auspices of the
in December 2004 at Petaro. When the massive
earthquake struck Kashmir and the northern areas
in October 2005, Mahmood was the key person to
galvanize support and organize movement of doctors
and raise funds for the
Petarian Foundation relief camp at Bagh, AJK.
His personal services for the college have also
been tremendous. The interior decoration and
furnishing of the new VIP Guest House at Petaro is
the contribution of Mahmood Baweja.
Mahmood currently lives in Karachi.
