belongs orginally from Lucknow in India. Soon
after the creation of Pakistan, his father moved
to Karachi in 1947 and settled down there.
Prior to joining
Petaro, Javed got his entire education from KG to
7th Class at Public School, Cantt, Karachi.
He was extremely
fond of cricket and remained a cricketer for most
of his life. At Petaro, he was the Captain of the
Qasim House cricket team, and the wicket keeper of
the College Cricket Team. He was given a colour in
cricket. He played the ICCST on behalf of the
college and is a member of the
Famous Forties of 1968.
After Petaro, he
joined Karachi University in 1972 and graduated
with a B.A. degree in 1974. He was wicket keeper
and batsman of the Karachi University cricket team
with a colour. At the same time, he was also the
wicket keeper of the Karachi Cricket Association
and played on behalf of Sindh. He was also
selected to the Pakistan Universities cricket team
as wicket keeper, holding colours from each team
from Karachi University, he joined Pakistan Navy
in 1975, and was commissioned as an officer in
1976. He served the navy for 7 years and took
early retirement in 1983 on compassionate grounds
due to personal issues on the rank of a

Navy, he was a member of the Pakistan Navy cricket
team during 1977-1978. The following year, he was
selected to be a member of the Inter Services
Cricket team as wicket keeper. Again he got
colours from both teams.
Upon leaving the
navy in 1983, he joined Civil Aviation Authority
the same month and posted at the CAA Headquarters
at Terminal no.1. He then was made Terminal
Manager of Terminal 3 in 1985. In 1986, he was
appointed the Vigilance Officer, and the following
year he was sent to Quetta as Deputy Airport
Manager and then soon thereafter at the same
position at Faisalabad aiport.

served as ADC and PRO to Director General for 2
years. He then moved back to CAA HQ in 1990 and
was promoted as Corporate Manager. He also served
as Terminal Manager at Karachi Airport. Javed has
held different positions at the CAA during his
life long career there including VIP/VVIP
handling, managing Hajj terminal operations, etc.
In 2009 he was promoted to be Acting GM Airport
Services. Currently, he is the Acting GM Cargo and
based at Karachi.
Javed is known for
his straight talk. He does not mince words
whenever talking to anyone. Although he has very
high regard for his seniors, he does not tolerate
anyone who will swerve away from the truth.
He also has a very soft heart, and participates in
welfare activities with his time and resources. He
