Mahmood Anwer Kalim, kit no. 860/Jinnah House joined Cadet College Petaro in 1967 and left the college in 1972 after completing his Intermediate.

He was born on 1 May 1953, and got married to Mrs. Perween on 27 March 1979. They have a daughter Shumaila and 2 sons Bilal and Usman. His daughter works with Boeing Company as an Engineer, and both of his sons are medical doctors having graduated from Minnesota Medical School.

Anwer was the captain of the College Athletics team during his last year at Petaro. He was also a member of the College Hockey Team.

Soon after leaving Petaro, Anwer joined the Pakistan Navy in December 1972.  On passing out from the Pakistan Naval Academy in 1975, he was commissioned in the Executive Branch.  He was awarded the President's Gold Medal for best achievement in studies. He also graduated from the PAF Academy Risalpur in 1979 as a GD Pilot.

During his tenure with the Navy, he served on various command and staff positions on board ships, Naval Air Arm and PN Establishments.  He also served with the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency for 2 years on secondment from the Navy. He commanded the 27 Maritime Aviation Squadron and a Corvette in the Maritime Security Agency.

Anwer chose to take premature retirement from Pakistan Navy in 1995 when he was at the rank of a Commander. He migrated to the USA a year later and has been settled there ever since.

After retirement from the Navy, Anwer worked with Aero Asia as a pilot for one year.

Soon after he moved to the USA, he worked initially as a pilot with Bemidji Airlines for a year. However he could not continue his aviation career thereafter due to a back injury.

In 2002, he established a hospitality business company called Pasub Corporation which currently owns two hotels in Shakopee, Minnesota.
