Khalid Hussain Makhdoom, kit no. 72/Latif House joined Cadet College Petaro in 1959 and left the college in 1963 after completing his Intermediate.

He was born on 25 December 1946, and was married to Mrs. Shamsunnisa on 1 May 1973. They have seven children - Tariq, Mahjabeen, Kamran, Imran kit no. 93152, Aliya, Zeeshan and Salman.

Prior to joining Petaro, Khalid Makhdoom studied at St. Bonaventure's High School, Hyderabad from 1951-1959.

At Petaro, he was a member of the house Quiz and Spelling Bee teams. He was a good student and obtained First Division in Matric and Intermediate.

Soon after leaving Petaro, he joined NED Engineering College in Karachi, and graduated as a Civil Engineer in 1967. He then had a nearly 40 year career as an engineer, and finally retired as GM Engineering from Port Qasim Authority.

He was a very well traveled personality and has been to Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Singapore, UK, France, USA, Canada, India, UAE, Iran, Syria, Brunei, Australia, Sri Lanka, Holland and Belgium.

He had been an active member of the Petarian Association and has been on its Managing Committee several times.

His brothers Dr. Ahmed Hussain Makhdoom 97/Ayub, Jawed Hussain Makhdoom 76108/Liaquat, and Muhammad Ali Makhdoom 80133/Liaquat and his son Imran Makhdoom, 93152/Jinnah are Petarians.

Khalid Makhdoom expired on 29 December 2014 at Karachi of heart failure, and was buried at his native village in District Kandiaro.
